This post gives me great joy sorry to say! I am so glad to hear that other people have baking-gone-wrong issues. They drive me absolutely nuts! I hate to waste food and waste time. Its always my fault too. I try to change perfectly good recipes to make them healthier, only making something disgusting and wishing I had stuck to the recipe from the beginning.

Oh, I am sorry it didn't quite turn out the way you hoped; I often find myself in the same dilemma...do I follow the recipe, or revise it?! You never know which will be monumental. The joy of baking, I guess :) I've been toying with the idea of a plum cake since I just bought a 2lb bag (not Italian though). This has made me want to explore recipes!
